Armed Security Guard in Florida

To work as an Armed Security Guard in Florida, you must have your Security D License or be a Licensed Private Investigator in the State of Florida. The G License is a second license to carry a gun while working on duty. It is illegal to carry a firearm in the State of Florida while working as an Armed Security Officer, Bodyguard, Executive Protection, Security Driver or any jobs in security with a concealed carry/concealed weapons license. You may carry concealed working armed guard security with your Security Class “D” License and along with a Class “G” Firearms License on temporary assigned duties. You can obtain your G License if you are under 21 years of age but cannot carry weapons concealed. The Security Armed License is not the same as a Concealed Permit and is under different gun laws. The concealed is for personal gun carry only and is limited to where you can have a firearm.
